OR
Sow directly outdoors in late fall to overwinter.
Smooth Blue Aster (Symphyotrichum Leave)
Delicate lavender-blue daisy-like flowers blanket the plant in late summer and fall, providing critical pollen and nectar for native bees preparing for winter. This drought-tolerant native supports specialist mining bees, sweat bees, and bumblebees during the crucial fall season.
Height: 3-4 feet tall
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Bloom Period: Blooms August to October
Soil Moisture: Dry to Medium
Seeds Per Packet: Approx. 325 seeds per pack, covers 20 ft²

Golden Alexanders (Zizia Aurea)
Bright yellow umbrella-shaped flower clusters bloom in late spring, offering essential early-season pollen and nectar for emerging native bees and other pollinators. This adaptable native is particularly important for solitary bees that are active in spring when few other food sources are available.
Height: 1-3 feet tall
Sunlight: Full Sun to Part Shade
Bloom Period: Blooms April to June
Soil Moisture: Medium to Wet

OR
Sow directly outdoors in late fall to overwinter.
Common Evening Primrose (Oenothera Biennis)
Bright yellow four-petaled flowers open dramatically at dusk, specifically attracting specialist native bees that are active in evening hours along with night-flying moths. This biennial provides abundant pollen for early-morning foraging bees and self-seeds to create ongoing habitat.
